Comtrend documents 10.0.0.10 for an unpaired WAP-5836 Wireless Extender in Client mode. A paired or installed unit can use an address assigned by the main router. This is an extender-management route, not a universal router default.

Open this local interface

On the WAP-5836 local connection, enter 10.0.0.10 in your browser address bar only if that is still the extender’s address; otherwise use its current assigned address.

Use this instruction for the exact Comtrend WAP-5836 in the documented Client-mode context. Current addressing and credentials take precedence. The reviewed source text does not establish HTTP, HTTPS or a port.

Use the extender’s current local address

On the WAP-5836 local connection, follow the browser instruction above only when 10.0.0.10 remains its address. If the main router supplies addresses automatically, identify the WAP-5836 in that router’s device list and use its assigned address.

For a direct computer connection, the manual requires an unused compatible address and says to record and later restore the computer’s previous network settings. Do not change a working pairing or operating mode to force the default route.

Use the current management account

The documented factory username is root and password 12345, valid only while unchanged. Use the current management account after configuration. These credentials are separate from the main router login and wireless key.

Inspect System Information for Status, Channel and Image Version, or open Monitor to view Counters. Use Logout when finished. No network edit, pairing, reset or Apply action is needed.

If 10.0.0.10 does not respond

Confirm the exact WAP-5836, its Client-mode context, current local connection and actual assigned address before troubleshooting credentials. An extender’s assigned address need not equal the main router’s gateway.

Use the browser-address instruction above or the current access details supplied by your equipment provider. Changing mode, resetting or upgrading the extender is unnecessary for this status check.
