Weidmüller documents 172.16.1.254 as the LAN address of Router 2 after configuring its multi-router example. It is not the family’s factory default: the same current manual gives 192.168.1.110 for the factory LAN address. Use this page only when the installed 4GT-series router’s current plan identifies it as the documented Router 2 context.
Open Weidmüller Router 2 management
Use this explicit HTTP address only on the matching authorized industrial LAN. Current address, protocol, access controls and credentials override the example. The manual’s example uses admin / Detmold; treat that pair only as an unchanged example/default, not as a promise for an installed router or remote-access account.
Match the configured Router 2
Confirm the exact Weidmüller Security Router 4GT-series installation and its approved network plan. The manufacturer’s example assigns 172.16.1.254 to Router 2’s LAN port after configuration; another router, factory-state unit or changed installation can use a different address.
Connect only from the authorized LAN and use the current administrator account. Do not try the documented example password repeatedly or substitute u-link or VPN credentials.
Inspect Ethernet port status
Open Diagnostics → Ethernet. The page displays the current status of the four Ethernet ports so the operator can distinguish LAN- and WAN-port link state.
Read the status only. Do not open IP Configuration, alter routing, firewall or VPN settings, run remote capture, apply changes, reboot or save configuration.
If the example address does not open
Check the installed router’s current LAN address, the correct Router 2 connection, client subnet and Ethernet link with the network operator. A factory-state unit uses a different documented LAN address, so failure at 172.16.1.254 does not justify a reset.
Do not move industrial cables, change a production client’s address, disable access controls or restore defaults merely to reproduce the example.
