D-Link documents 192.168.0.10/24 for the Revision A DPR-1040 only when no DHCP server is found, or when it is known to be the unit’s current address. This end-of-life multifunction print server is not a router and is not the DPR-1260. Use its actual current address beside the conditional HTTP action below.

Use the fallback or current print-server address

The DPR-1040 tries DHCP first. Open the HTTP action above only when DHCP was unavailable and the fallback applies, or when 192.168.0.10 is the known current address. The documented hostname alternative is dlink-xxxxxx, derived from the last six characters of the bottom-label MAC address.

On an upstream DHCP network, consult that network’s leases for the assigned address. During a direct or DHCP-absent connection, do not assume an upstream router exists or confuse print-protocol ports with browser access.

Use the current print-server password

The documented factory username is admin with a blank password. Use the current password after a change. These credentials administer the print server; they are not printer-driver, wireless or router credentials.

Open STATUS → Device Info to view server identity/IP, USB printer name/speed/status and LAN link/speed. Network or Wireless status may also be viewed. No test print, driver installation, Apply, reset or reboot is required.

If 192.168.0.10 is unavailable

Confirm the exact DPR-1040 Revision A and connect to its actual segment with a unique same-subnet client address. Preserve and restore the computer’s prior settings after any temporary compatible address.

Same-segment discovery is documented, but legacy PS-Link installation is not a prerequisite here. Use current DHCP records only when DHCP actually applies, and do not reset the print server merely to recover the fallback.
