D-Link documents this conditional default for DAP-1522/1555 in AP or Bridge mode. It applies when the device is not receiving an address from another DHCP server. After upstream assignment, its management IP may differ.
Use this local link only when it matches your own equipment and network. RouterEntry does not detect your gateway or collect passwords.
Find the AP or bridge, not just the gateway
D-Link’s login FAQ gives 192.168.0.50 or http://dlinkap. If an upstream router assigns the device an address, use that current address instead. Your gateway may help you reach the upstream router’s device information, but it is not necessarily the AP itself.
Use the matching administrator credentials
The cited DAP-1522/1555 FAQ specifies unchanged username admin with a blank password. Use the current password if configured. A Wi-Fi encryption key is not automatically the administrator password.
For a direct PC connection without DHCP, the FAQ requires a suitable static client address. Preserve your original client settings, use the model’s appropriate subnet instructions, and restore the original settings afterward.
If the default stopped working after installation
A new DHCP assignment can explain why 192.168.0.50 stopped opening. Confirm the exact model, existing AP/Bridge role and assigned address. Do not switch modes or reset merely to recover a familiar default.
The useful next step is reopening the correct management interface, not assuming an unverified menu or applying a wireless change. Use failed-access checks and the official FAQ if the current address still fails.
