192.168.1.100 is the documented default static address for Spectrum Controls Universal Industrial Gateway models WP-G-222-P1, WP-G-222-P2, WP-G-242-P1 and WP-G-242-P2. This guidance follows the software guide’s context through Gateway Version 2.02.nnn. The device does not function as a router. Its current Ethernet port grouping and address take precedence over the initial configuration.
Enter 192.168.1.100 in your browser address bar while connected to the gateway’s configured local Ethernet network.
Use this number only when it remains the matching gateway’s current address. Sign in as admin with the current replacement password. The browser workflow gives a bare address; the UI also requires TCP 443. Follow the operator’s current access details.
Check the current Ethernet connection
The initial setup groups both Ethernet ports and uses the static address 192.168.1.100/24. An installed gateway may have different port groups or addresses. Confirm the connected port and a compatible computer subnet before opening it.
The OLED can show the current address only when its security setting allows that display. Otherwise, ask the operator. Consult DHCP assignments only for an interface configured as a DHCP client on that server’s network. If TCP 443 access is in doubt, ask the network administrator to check the existing access policy.
Use the current password and inspect Identification
The username is permanently admin. The initial case-sensitive password Spectrum is replaced at first login; use the current replacement on an installed unit. If first-login setup appears unexpectedly, ask the operator before proceeding.
Open SETUP → Identification and read the noneditable model number, MAC and assigned IP fields. Leave the name and description unchanged and do not press Submit.
If 192.168.1.100 does not open
Check the exact gateway model, current Ethernet port grouping, address and subnet with its operator. A changed address replaces the documented initial one.
Keep PLC tags, live maps and industrial outputs untouched. Resetting the gateway, changing port groups or disabling security is unnecessary for this identification check.
