Identify the Ubiquiti family first. Ubiquiti documents 192.168.1.20 for the cited airMAX M factory setup, but the same numeric address is not a universal Ubiquiti browser-login promise.

airMAX M: the documented factory browser route
For the official airMAX M initial-access procedure, connect by Ethernet and use a compatible 192.168.1.x client subnet. The cited factory login is ubnt/ubnt; current credentials and an already changed management address override those defaults. Apply this only to the documented equipment and state.
UniFi access points need a different route
Ubiquiti’s standalone UniFi AP guidance uses the mobile app, not a standalone browser interface. A fallback 192.168.1.20 can indicate missing network configuration. Use the official UniFi setup/discovery and LAN/DHCP guidance instead of repeatedly trying an airMAX password.
If the device cannot be reached
Check the family label, Ethernet connection and current device address. Your default gateway may belong to an upstream router, not the radio or AP. If temporary client settings are required, preserve and restore your original settings after following the matching official instructions.
Do not reset, change radio mode or start a scan simply to test this address. Continue with local access diagnostics; a separate internet fault is not proof that the management password is wrong.
