Linksys documents 192.168.1.252/24 as the LAPN300 fallback when DHCP is unavailable. This is an access-point management address, not a router gateway or a universal Linksys default. A DHCP-assigned or configured static address, current credentials and the owner’s enabled HTTP/HTTPS protocol take precedence beside the action below.
Use this local link only when it matches your own equipment and network. RouterEntry does not detect your gateway or collect passwords.
Connect locally and open the fallback address
Use a wired computer on the same local network; wireless management is initially disabled. Open the documented HTTP address above only when this exact LAPN300 is using its DHCP-unavailable fallback. If DHCP supplied an address or the owner configured another static address, use that current address instead.
The manual documents HTTP on port 80 and configurable HTTPS on port 443. Do not claim HTTPS is universally disabled: use the protocol currently enabled by the owner after the initial documented HTTP context.
Use the current access-point login
The documented unchanged login is admin / admin. An installed LAPN300 uses its current configured credentials. These are local access-point credentials, not a Wi-Fi key or upstream-router login.
For a read-only check, open System Status → System Summary and view the model/region SKU, firmware version and uptime. No wireless or network setting needs to be changed.
If 192.168.1.252 does not respond
Confirm the exact LAPN300 identity, wired local connection, compatible subnet, current DHCP/static address and enabled management protocol. The fallback does not prove that the access point is the network gateway.
Check the known router or administrator’s current network records, then use same-network access checks. Do not reset the access point or alter DHCP merely to make the fallback address respond.
