Zyxel documents 192.168.1.3/24 as the factory management address for the GS1200-5 in the Version 2.00 guide. This page is for the non-PoE GS1200-5, not a PoE hardware variant. Use the installed management address after a change; optional DHCP-client operation does not make this an unconditional DHCP fallback.

Open GS1200-5 switch login ↗

Use this HTTP address only for the matching GS1200-5 at its current management address. A configured static address or enabled DHCP client takes precedence.

Reach the switch management page

Connect through the local Ethernet network and open the documented HTTP action above. A client must use a compatible local subnet when the switch remains at its factory address.

If DHCP client was deliberately enabled, the served lease can identify its current address. Otherwise do not require an upstream DHCP record for the static management address.

Use the current switch password

The factory interface has a password-only login using 1234. First login requires an 8–15-character replacement password, so configured switches use that current value. Do not add an unsupported username or promise status access before the required password step is completed.

Open System to view model, firmware, uptime and port statistics. Inspect only; do not reset counters, change ports or VLANs, or select Apply.

If 192.168.1.3 does not open

Confirm the exact GS1200-5, its current management address, Ethernet cable and LEDs, and a compatible subnet. If you temporarily assign an unused client address, preserve and restore the prior client settings.

Use local-access checks without resetting the switch as routine troubleshooting.
