This follows the legacy WL-5460AP v2 manual. It lists 192.168.100.252 as the factory address and AP as the initial mode. Confirm the installed unit's current address and mode first.
Use the existing authorized local network and current web account if prompted. The manual documents this HTTP address; changed access details take precedence. Do not assume a universal admin password.
Read the connection lights
Power indicates power. LAN1/LAN2 indicate an active port connection and blink with traffic. Link/Act indicates an associated wireless client and blinks with activity.
Check the Status light
The red Status light appears during startup and goes out after a successful boot. If it remains lit after the self-test, the manual directs you to technical support. Record the observed state.
If the interface will not open
Ask the owner to confirm the current address and that your existing connection is on the same subnet. Leave the operating mode, cables and network configuration unchanged; do not reset or install firmware for this observation.
