ARRIS documents 192.168.100.254 as the default Web Manager address for the SBX-1000P wired G.hn network extender. This is not a cable-modem or general SURFboard gateway address. A custom management address takes precedence.
Use the matching extender’s local Ethernet or G.hn context. On an unchanged unit the login is password-only with password; use the current password after it has been changed. Do not add a username or substitute router, Wi-Fi or G.hn pairing credentials.
Use the extender’s current local address
Confirm the device is an ARRIS SBX-1000P, a discontinued wired G.hn network extender. Enter http://192.168.100.254 only when it remains the device’s local Web Manager address; use the installed custom address otherwise.
The official article requires a client in the 192.168.100.x subnet for the default address. If an authorized operator temporarily uses an unused address such as 192.168.100.253/24, record the prior computer IP and DNS settings and restore them afterward.
Sign in and view Device status
Enter the current password in the password field. The documented unchanged password is password, with no username. The login control is labelled Apply; after login, the Status - Device page appears.
Read that landing page only. Do not change the login password, LAN subnet, pairing name, firmware, LEDs or G.hn settings, and do not reset or pair equipment.
If 192.168.100.254 does not open
Check the exact SBX-1000P, current or custom address, Ethernet connection and client subnet. Restore any temporary client IP and DNS settings after the check.
Do not reset the extender, press Pairing, move upstream-router settings or assume a modem or gateway uses this address. Ask the network owner for the current address and password.
