WatchGuard documents 192.168.111.1 for Firebox X Edge e-Series 10e, 20e, 55e, 10e-W, 20e-W and 55e-W appliances using legacy Edge software. This is not the route for modern Fireboxes, Fireware XTM or the WatchGuard SSL 100. The configured trusted IP and access permissions take precedence.
Use this HTTPS address only from the matching appliance’s trusted network. Its current trusted IP, access policy and authorized account take precedence.
Connect from the trusted network
From the appliance’s existing trusted LAN, open the documented HTTPS action above without appending port 8080 or 8443. Factory setup supplies DHCP on this side, but an installed appliance can use another trusted address or access policy.
If the Quick Setup Wizard appears unexpectedly, stop this inspection and follow the administrator’s setup process separately. Do not complete setup merely to reach a status page.
Use an authorized current account
Use the administrator or read-only administrator credentials created during setup or the current installed account. Do not borrow a modern Firebox factory credential pair. A user without administrative permission may see Login Status rather than System Status.
Open System Status to inspect the current settings and configuration. Viewing does not require reset, firmware work, reconfiguration or an HTTP downgrade.
If 192.168.111.1 does not open
Check the exact e-Series model and legacy software context, trusted-network connection, configured trusted address, current account permissions and any local proxy. Current installation records supersede the factory route.
Treat a certificate warning as an identity check: verify the actual appliance and current administrator instructions rather than blindly bypassing it. Do not reset security equipment simply to make the default address respond.
