Hi-Link documents 192.168.16.254 for the exact HLK-RM28E in stock Default mode. Use its existing LAN or AP connection and current address after configuration. WAN DHCP is separate, and other operating modes can disable different interfaces; do not change modes merely to obtain this route.
Use this HTTP address only for the matching HLK-RM28E on its active local interface. The installed mode, current address and current web credentials take precedence.
Use the active local interface
Connect through the module’s active LAN or AP interface and open the documented HTTP action above. Use a compatible local subnet and preserve any existing client configuration before temporarily choosing an unused address.
Use an upstream DHCP record only for an interface actually configured as a DHCP client. Do not manipulate physical pins or reset the module to force Default mode.
Use the current web credentials
The manual documents factory admin / admin. Confirm the installed web-management credentials with the owner if they differ. The module’s Wi-Fi credentials are separate from its web-management credentials.
In the serial configuration area, read Current → Serial Configure for baud rate, data bits, parity and stop bits. Updated contains proposed edits; viewing requires no Apply, serial command or transmitted test data.
If 192.168.16.254 does not open
Confirm the exact HLK-RM28E, its current operating mode, active local interface, management address and a compatible client subnet. Restore any temporary client address afterward.
Do not change modes, reset hardware, send serial commands or apply settings simply to make the documented default respond.
