RouterEntry · Sources checked · How we write our guides

Comtrend documents 192.168.169.1 as the factory management address for the GS-7605 and GS-7608 PoE Smart-Lite switches. Use the current DHCP-assigned or administrator-configured address after changes. A switch-management address need not be your router’s gateway.

Open this local interface

On the switch’s local network, enter 192.168.169.1 in your browser address bar only if it remains the switch’s current address; otherwise use its assigned or configured address.

For the matching GS-7605 or GS-7608 on a compatible local subnet. Use the current password; admin/admin applies only when unchanged. The manual’s browser workflow does not specify HTTP, HTTPS or a port. Follow the administrator’s current access details.

Confirm the switch’s current address

Check the model and management IP with the administrator. The factory address is 192.168.169.1, but an assigned DHCP address or configured static address can replace it. Your computer must be on a compatible local subnet.

Follow the browser-address instruction above. Use DHCP records only when the switch actually receives its address from that network. Do not infer the address from an LED pattern.

Use the current login and view System

The manual documents initial admin / admin; use the current password after setup. Its first-login prose describes password changes as both required and recommended. For this check, use an already configured switch and stop if a password change is required.

Open System to read model, firmware, IPv4, Loop Status and PoE Status. Leave Management, VLAN and port controls alone. Use Logout when finished.

If 192.168.169.1 is unavailable

Recheck the current management IP and local subnet with the administrator. The address of an upstream router is not necessarily the switch’s address.

Keep the working switch configuration intact. Resetting, upgrading or changing ports and PoE is unnecessary for this status view.
