Edimax documents 192.168.2.2 as the default management address for the exact EW-7428HCn in default AP mode. Do not substitute instructions for EW-7438APn or EW-7438RPn. Use the current address after manual or DHCP configuration; DHCP management is an optional configured choice, not an unconditional fallback.

Use this HTTP address only for the matching EW-7428HCn at its current management address. Optional DHCP configuration and current credentials take precedence.

Open the matching access point

Connect a computer on the same local subnet and open the documented HTTP action above. For an unchanged default, the manual gives 192.168.2.10/24 as a client example; choose an unused compatible address and preserve the client’s prior settings so you can restore them afterward.

A Windows Access Key is device-specific. Do not publish or reuse the manual’s example key as a universal value.

Use the current management credentials

The documented factory login is admin / 1234. Setup can change both the management username and password, so use the current pair afterward.

On Home, view operating mode, firmware, current IP/subnet and associated-client count. These fields are on Home, not a separate Status tab. Viewing requires no Apply, Save, mode change or reboot.

If 192.168.2.2 does not open

Confirm the exact EW-7428HCn, its current management address and a same-subnet computer. Use the attached router or DHCP-server lease only when DHCP management was actually selected.

Restore any temporary client addressing when finished. Do not switch operating modes or reset the access point merely to recover the default address.
