NETGEAR documents 192.168.61.1/24 for the legacy TA612V Broadband Voice Adapter. This is a wired voice adapter, not a wireless router. Use its LAN connection and current LAN address; provider-managed configuration or a changed address and account take precedence.
Use this HTTP address only through the matching TA612V’s LAN and use its current address and provider-approved account after changes.
Use the TA612V LAN connection
Connect through the adapter’s LAN port and open the documented HTTP action above. Its initial LAN DHCP service can give the client compatible addressing. Never connect a computer to the phone port or treat an upstream WAN lease as the direct-LAN management address.
Use the configured current LAN address after a change. Preserve any provider-managed broadband and voice arrangement.
Use the current management login
The manual documents lowercase admin / password when unchanged. Use the current or provider-supplied management account after configuration. These credentials are distinct from VoIP/SIP and broadband credentials.
Open Maintenance → Router Status and inspect the WAN Port address. The guide explains that 0.0.0.0 means the adapter has not obtained a WAN IP. Do not click Apply, Release/Renew, run setup, edit SIP settings or reset the device.
If 192.168.61.1 does not open
Check power and LAN-link indicators, the exact TA612V, current LAN subnet/address and credential case. Enter the address in the browser bar and try another browser if the legacy page does not render.
Do not restore factory defaults or attempt to unlock carrier configuration merely to force the documented pair.
