TorGuard documents 192.168.70.1 for its tutorial’s PrivateRouter OpenWRT x86 PC image. This guidance is for an already configured machine, not every OpenWrt installation or PrivateRouter model. Use the current management LAN address and protocol if changed, including HTTPS where configured.
Open PrivateRouter local management
Use this documented HTTP address only when it matches the installed PrivateRouter x86 image’s current management service. Follow configured HTTPS and access restrictions instead where applicable. Use the current local management account/password; first-boot passwordless access applies only to the matching initial setup.
Use the existing management LAN
Confirm that the PC is already running the PrivateRouter OpenWRT x86 image described in TorGuard’s tutorial. Connect the client to its management LAN and check that the client’s assigned address is on the current local subnet.
The documented default uses 192.168.70.1 with a client address on 192.168.70.x. Use the current network assignment if changed. The tutorial also supports enabling HTTPS, so follow the operator’s configured protocol and access details.
Use current credentials and inspect WAN status
Use the installed local management account and password. The x86 tutorial permits an initial login without a password and then directs setting an administrator password; that initial state does not describe every installed unit. If first-time setup appears unexpectedly, stop and consult the operator.
Local management credentials are separate from a TorGuard website or VPN account. On the already configured unit, open Network → Interfaces and inspect the current WAN connection status. Leave Edit, Restart and Save/Apply controls alone.
If local access or Internet access fails
Recheck the exact running image, management-LAN cable, current address, client subnet and configured HTTP/HTTPS service. If management opens but Internet access fails, view the existing WAN status, check the cable and ask the operator for help.
Resetting or reinstalling is unnecessary for this status check. Preserve WAN/VPN settings, access restrictions, storage and applications.
