RouterEntry · Sources checked · How we write our guides
Huawei documents this address for indoor 5G CPE Pro / Pro 2 management. Connect to your own CPE network and check its nameplate first. Huawei’s outdoor CPE guidance instead uses 192.168.118.1; these are different access routes.
Open only when this matches your own equipment and network. RouterEntry does not detect your gateway or ask for router passwords.
Read the nameplate and the current prompt
The nameplate provides the applicable management address and password information. Use your current administrator password if it was changed. A Wi-Fi key joins the network; it is not automatically the password requested by the management screen. Follow your model’s labels rather than trying a universal username/password pair.
Inspect connected devices without changing settings
For the supported Huawei interface, sign in and open Devices → Online Devices to inspect connected-device information. This is a viewing task; you do not need to change network mode or disconnect devices. Menus depend on model and firmware.
If 192.168.8.1 does not respond
First check whether your equipment is an indoor CPE or an outdoor unit. Confirm that you joined its network, then read the actual gateway and compare it with the nameplate. If a separate router supplies your Wi-Fi, its gateway may lead to that router instead. Use the CPE’s own instructions to reach the intended device.
If the login screen opens but rejects the password, follow administrator-password recovery checks. If the interface opens but internet access fails, use connection diagnostics; do not switch mobile network modes just to repair a login problem.
