This follows the DVG-5402G/GF’s April 2023 manual. Its default local address is 192.168.8.254. A changed static address or dynamically assigned address in AP, repeater or client mode takes precedence.
On the router's authorized local network, enter 192.168.8.254 in your browser's address bar only if it is the router's current local address.
Use admin and the installed router’s current configured password. Stop if an initial setup wizard appears. The manual documents HTTP/HTTPS capability, but its numeric entry passage does not pin the active local scheme or port; follow the installed access details.
Confirm the current address
Check the existing computer/router connection, mode and local address with the owner. The manual filename’s version number does not identify the firmware installed on your unit.
Read Network Statistics
Open Statistics → Network Statistics. Inspect each existing WAN, LAN or WLAN connection’s name, state, address/mask and received/transmitted data. A connection row opens its details; leave configuration unchanged.
If login fails
Confirm the current password before retrying. Repeated wrong passwords can temporarily block login; the manual says to wait one minute. Do not reset, switch modes, run setup or change WAN/VoIP settings for this check.
