NETGEAR documents this numeric route for supported range extenders such as EX3700. It is a default/illustrative access address, not a promise that every installed extender still uses it. Join the extender’s network first.
Use this local link only when it matches your own equipment and network. RouterEntry does not detect your gateway or collect passwords.
Setup address or installed extender?
If mywifiext does not open, NETGEAR’s failed-access article gives 192.168.1.250 as a numeric alternative. After setup, use the extender’s actual IP when required, especially if the extender and router share a Wi-Fi name. Mesh and Nighthawk Mesh extenders have separate official instructions.
Use the extender administrator login
Enter the current administrator username and password; NETGEAR notes that the username may be an email address. Do not assume admin/password. If offered, Username & Password Help is the recovery link. A Wi-Fi key joins the network; it is not automatically the extender’s management password.
Check Status, then investigate connection failures
After sign-in, NETGEAR’s documented interface opens Status. Open the menu if needed and select Settings to inspect the extender’s configuration before changing anything.
If no page opens, check power and connection LEDs and your local Wi-Fi/Ethernet connection. Find the main gateway to reach its connected-device list, then locate the extender’s assigned IP; the extender itself need not be the gateway. Use NETGEAR family help or failed-access diagnostics before considering a reset.
