RouterEntry · Sources checked · How we write our guides
Use this address for supported cable-modem management. Virgin Media Hub 3/4/5 use it when modem mode is already enabled; this does not cover Hub 5x. ARRIS documents it for the SB8200 cable modem.
Open only when this matches your own equipment and network. RouterEntry does not detect your gateway or ask for router passwords.
Choose the equipment you are managing
Virgin Media Hub 5: router mode uses 192.168.0.1; already-enabled modem mode uses 192.168.100.1. Use the Hub settings password, not the separate router’s Wi-Fi password. Do not change operating mode just to sign in.
ARRIS SB8200: this is a cable-modem status interface, not a Wi-Fi settings page. Firmware before 1.01.009.47 can show Connection without an administrator login. In the newer documented login flow, the username is admin; use the current password if changed. ARRIS documents initial password variants of password or the last eight serial-number digits; follow the applicable device instructions. Follow the actual firmware screen. ARRIS advises waiting five minutes after failed attempts. Once signed in, Connection and Event Log help inspect modem status.
Why your gateway may be different
A computer’s default gateway can be a separate router, not the intended cable modem. Check the gateway to identify the router, then use the modem’s exact model and operating-mode guidance for modem access. A different gateway does not by itself make 192.168.100.1 incorrect for the modem.
If the modem page will not open
Confirm the modem model, current mode and connection to your home network. If another router is between you and the modem, follow the provider’s access instructions for that arrangement rather than changing WAN settings. A working local status page does not prove internet service works: use connection diagnostics for a service fault.
