Open the CR1000A settings

1. Connect to this router’s Wi-Fi or a LAN port.
2. In the browser address bar, enter mynetworksettings.com or https://192.168.1.1, as documented in the CR1000A manual.
3. Use the current administrator password. At the original setup, the manual identifies the rear-label Network Settings Password.

This opens an address on your network. Confirm it is your router before entering credentials.

Wi-Fi key or settings password?

The Wi-Fi credentials connect a device to the network; the settings credential opens administration. If either has been changed, use its current value rather than the printed original. The first-time setup wizard can offer Wi-Fi-name changes; it is not the same as account recovery.

Change the primary Wi-Fi name or password

1. After local sign-in, choose Basic → Wi-Fi → Primary Network.
2. Edit the intended name or password, leaving unrelated settings unchanged.
3. Select Apply Changes. If disconnected, join the updated network with its new password.

Changing Wi-Fi details does not recover the separate administration password. Avoid changing the security mode or enabling 6 GHz as part of a routine password edit: those changes can affect older devices.

Use My Verizon for everyday management

Verizon also supports managing the network through My Verizon. Its support page describes Wi-Fi information and guest-network controls under the Internet service. Use the account linked to your service and follow the current menu labels.

Recover access to a locked-out CR1000A

Check your saved Network Settings Password before considering a reset. A factory reset erases custom settings, including Wi-Fi and administrator credentials, and interrupts the connection. Read the original rear-label credentials privately and plan to set up your network again. If the label is unreadable or someone else manages the service, ask Verizon or that administrator for help first.

1. Confirm the label says CR1000A and locate the recessed Reset opening on its rear panel.
2. With the router powered on, use a paperclip to hold that control for at least 10 seconds, following the External section of Verizon’s CR1000A recovery article ↗, then release it.
3. Let the router restart. Rejoin its original Wi-Fi using the rear-label network name and Wi-Fi password, or use a LAN cable.
4. Open mynetworksettings.com or https://192.168.1.1. Use the original Network Settings Password and complete setup; reapply the settings you need and reconnect affected devices.

The CR1000A manuals contain a conflicting shorter hold in their troubleshooting sections. These steps follow Verizon’s dedicated CR1000A recovery article, which agrees with their rear-panel description. If the control differs, or original credentials still fail after restart, contact Verizon instead of repeatedly resetting. RouterEntry has not tested this on your hardware or firmware.

If the browser will not open the page

Confirm the network connection and check the active gateway. The manual describes a possible local certificate warning: verify the destination and consult its instructions rather than continuing through an unexpected warning.

If a sign-in screen loads but rejects the password, use admin-password recovery guidance. If websites fail across several devices, start with the no-internet checks. These are different problems.
