Check Smart Hub 2 on your equipment. BT Smart Hub, Smart Hub 3 and Home Hub models have different instructions. Choose the Smart Hub 2 section in shared BT help pages.
Open BT Smart Hub 2 settings
Join your Hub’s network and enter 192.168.1.254 or bthomehub.home in the browser address bar. Hub Manager opens locally; another router in front of the Hub may change the address your device reports as its gateway.
Which password does this screen need?
Hub Manager requests the admin password for settings changes. The unchanged original is on the back of the Hub. Use your replacement if it changed; the wireless password and My BT account are separate.
Wi-Fi settings
BT’s Smart Hub 2 instructions use My BT: Home Network → Settings → Network settings → Change Wi-Fi password. Enter the current Wi-Fi password, then enter and confirm the replacement. Reconnect affected devices.
Can I split the Wi-Fi bands?
BT says Smart Hub 2 does not offer separate SSIDs for the Wi-Fi bands because it is designed for Complete Wi-Fi. Do not apply band-splitting instructions written for an older Smart Hub to this model.
If you cannot sign in
Look for the current saved admin password and consult BT’s Smart Hub 2 password help. A change to the My BT account password is not a change to the Hub’s local administrator password.
If the screen asks for a BT account, use account recovery in the official app or website. Confirm that account manages this network. Resetting the equipment is not a way to recover an online account.

If internet access fails too
Compare another device on the same network. One device failing and every device failing need different checks. Note any equipment error and consult your provider when the shared connection remains unavailable.
