Check your equipment

Confirm eero 6 in your equipment details. Other eero generations and provider-managed installations can have different features. Use the account associated with your existing home network.

Open eero 6 settings

Start in the official eero app. eero documents it as the place to view and configure the network, including setup and password changes. Use that supported management route when a generic router-login IP does not provide the settings you expect.

Which password does this screen need?

Sign in through the account flow presented by the official app. The Wi-Fi password joins devices to the network; it does not by itself establish access to the app’s network-management account.

Wi-Fi settings

Select the intended network in the app before editing its Wi-Fi settings. Check the current name, apply only the change you need and reconnect affected devices. Use eero’s in-app help if a provider-managed screen differs.

An older device cannot see the eero 6 network

eero documents a compatibility issue with some older Wi-Fi drivers. Its temporary route is Settings → Troubleshooting → My device won’t connect → My device can’t detect Wi-Fi 6 → Legacy Mode. Update the affected device’s drivers, then turn Legacy Mode off; it may reduce network speed.

If you cannot sign in

Use eero’s official account help if you cannot reach your existing network in the app. If other devices work, investigate the affected device before resetting the whole mesh. Keep account recovery separate from rebuilding the network.

If the screen asks for a eero account, use account recovery in the official app or website. Confirm that account manages this network. Resetting the equipment is not a way to recover an online account.

If internet access fails too

Compare another device on the same network. One device failing and every device failing need different checks. Note any equipment error and consult your provider when the shared connection remains unavailable.
