Check your equipment

This guide concerns Nest Wifi Pro. Google says it cannot join a mesh made from older Nest Wifi or Google Wifi units. Confirm Pro before following an expansion or setup guide.

Open Google Nest Wifi Pro settings

Open the Google Home app and select the home containing your Nest Wifi Pro network. Google’s setup route uses the app and a Google account; a generic browser login button is not the documented setup route.

Which password does this screen need?

Use the Google account with access to that home. The network’s Wi-Fi password connects your devices. A device setup code serves onboarding, rather than replacing either of those passwords.

Wi-Fi settings

In Google Home, open Home → Wifi → Network settings and select the existing password. Enter the replacement and save. Reconnect devices that used the old key.

Adding another mesh unit

Expand a Nest Wifi Pro mesh with another Nest Wifi Pro unit. Google’s app setup supports scanning the device QR code or entering its setup code when scanning is unavailable. Check compatibility before erasing an older Nest Wifi network.

If you cannot sign in

If the home or network is missing, first check the selected Google account and home. Use Google’s account-recovery help if you cannot sign in. A router factory reset rebuilds network configuration; it does not restore Google account access.

If the screen asks for a Google account, use account recovery in the official app or website. Confirm that account manages this network. Resetting the equipment is not a way to recover an online account.

Compare another device on the same network. One device failing and every device failing need different checks. Note any equipment error and consult your provider when the shared connection remains unavailable.
