Check the exact model

Match model RAX10 on the label and use the February 2023 RAX10 manual. A different AX1800 product name does not establish that these screens, credentials or recovery steps apply.

Open NETGEAR RAX10 settings

Connect by RAX10 Wi-Fi or a LAN Ethernet port, then open routerlogin.net. The manual also lists routerlogin.com and 192.168.1.1. Use the router's current address if its LAN settings changed.

Open routerlogin.net ↗

This local hostname works only while connected to your own router network.

Which password does the page need?

The local browser username is admin. Use the case-sensitive admin password chosen at first setup. The manual's factory-default admin password applies only to an unchanged factory state; the label Wi-Fi key, NETGEAR account and ISP login are separate credentials.

Change the Wi-Fi password

After local sign-in, select Wireless. In the intended 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz section, replace Password (Network Key), keep security enabled, and select Apply. Reconnect affected devices with the new key. A wired management connection avoids losing the settings page while Wi-Fi details change.

The sign-in page opens, but the password is rejected

Confirm the RAX10 page, use username admin, check capitalization and try the password saved during setup. Do not substitute the Wi-Fi key or NETGEAR account password. If the page itself will not open, compare Wi-Fi and Ethernet access before treating this as a credential problem.

Recover local administrator access

Password reset works only if it was enabled beforehand under Advanced → Administration → Set Password and its two security questions were saved. At routerlogin.net, cancel the sign-in prompt, enter the serial number from the label, answer those questions, and set a replacement admin password. If that prerequisite is absent, preserve the ISP and custom network details before considering a factory reset. The February 2023 manual gives conflicting Reset-button hold times in its hardware and factory-reset sections, so this guide deliberately gives no timing; confirm the current RAX10 procedure with NETGEAR support.

The manual distinguishes the NETGEAR account from the local router login. Local serial-number/security-question recovery does not recover an online account.

Choose the next diagnostic

Check whether the failure affects one device or all devices. Verify the device-to-router connection and cable to the modem. A 169.254.x.x client address indicates that the device did not obtain an address from the router. If RAX10 is acting as an access point, identify its assigned address from the upstream network before considering a reset.
