Open NETGEAR Nighthawk RAX200 settings

Connect by RAX200 Wi-Fi or a LAN Ethernet port, then enter routerlogin.net in the browser address bar. The exact manual also lists routerlogin.com and 192.168.1.1. If the page does not open, confirm the connection to this RAX200, check Ethernet or Wi-Fi, reopen the browser, and make sure the client obtains an address automatically before reset.

This local hostname works only while connected to your own router network.

Which password does the page need?

Browser administration uses username admin and the case-sensitive router administrator password chosen during setup. That is different from the Wi-Fi network key, NETGEAR account password, and any ISP login. The label key joins Wi-Fi and does not prove the current admin password. Treat the documented factory value as valid only after a confirmed reset.

Change the Wi-Fi password

After local sign-in, select Wireless. The RAX200 has separate 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz-1, and 5 GHz-2 sections. Check the intended band, edit Name (SSID) or Password (Network Key), keep security enabled, and select Apply. Use Ethernet when practical and reconnect wireless devices afterward. If Smart Connect is enabled, the manual says the bands use one name and key and the 2.4 GHz values can replace mismatched 5 GHz values, so review that setting before assuming the three sections remain independent.

Check the intended band before changing Wi-Fi details

A client can join one RAX200 band while another uses different settings. Verify 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz-1, 5 GHz-2, and Smart Connect state before changing credentials. If the local page works but websites do not, move to the WAN diagnostic instead of changing passwords repeatedly.

Recover local administrator access

Try non-destructive administrator recovery before erasing the router. It requires recovery to have been configured and both saved security answers. Open routerlogin.net, follow the recovery screen shown by the installed interface, and enter the label serial number only in that local flow. The February 2022 manual starts with Cancel at the login window; newer support describes a screen after failed attempts. If recovery is unavailable, preserve ISP and custom settings and consult the exact manual or NETGEAR Support before a factory reset. Resetting deletes the admin password, SSIDs, Wi-Fi keys, and other personalized settings and can require service reactivation. Keep power connected and do not interrupt restart. Official NETGEAR sources conflict on the button procedure, so this guide gives no hold time.

The NETGEAR account is separate from the RAX200 local administrator login. Local serial-number and security-question recovery does not recover an online account.

Choose the next diagnostic

Separate local access from WAN service. If the page opens but websites do not, open Advanced and inspect the Internet-port address. A value of 0.0.0.0 means no WAN address was obtained. Check the modem cable, then use the documented restart order: modem off and unplugged, router off, modem on and wait two minutes, router on and wait two minutes. If no WAN address appears, confirm provider login, host-name, or MAC requirements. With a WAN address present, continue to DNS and default-gateway checks.
