Open NETGEAR Nighthawk RAXE300 settings

Connect by RAXE300 Wi-Fi or a LAN Ethernet port, then enter routerlogin.net in the browser address bar. The exact manual also lists routerlogin.com and 192.168.1.1. These are local-router destinations, so the device must be on this router's network. If the page does not open, confirm the connection and power, reopen or clear the browser, and make sure the client obtains an address automatically before considering a reset. The Nighthawk app supports installation and some management on iOS or Android; the browser route on this page is the manual's exact route for the settings described below.

This local hostname works only while connected to your own router network.

Which password does the page need?

Browser administration uses username admin and the case-sensitive router administrator password chosen during first setup. The Wi-Fi key on the label joins the preset network. A NETGEAR account registers the router and manages subscriptions, while an ISP login serves the internet connection. None of those credentials automatically replaces the local administrator password. Treat the documented factory password only as a post-reset value.

Change the Wi-Fi password

After local browser sign-in, select Wireless. Check the intended 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, or 6 GHz section, replace its Password (Network Key), keep security enabled, and select Apply. Record the replacement first and use Ethernet when practical because applying a wireless change can disconnect the editing device. Rejoin affected devices with the saved key; changing one band's key does not prove the other bands changed. App screens can differ, so use the documented browser route when matching these fields.

A local login failure and an internet failure need different checks

If routerlogin.net does not open, verify the device-to-RAXE300 connection and current local credential. If the local page opens but websites do not, leave the passwords unchanged and inspect the Internet-port address and provider connection instead.

Recover local administrator access

Try non-destructive administrator recovery first. It works only if Enable Password Reset was selected earlier and the two saved security answers are available. From a browser connected to the RAXE300, open routerlogin.net, select Cancel at the login window, enter the serial number from this router's label, answer the saved questions, and create the replacement admin password. This changes local browser access; it does not recover a NETGEAR account or Wi-Fi key. If recovery is unavailable, preserve ISP, Wi-Fi, addressing, and other custom settings before considering a factory reset. Reset erases those settings, restores the label SSID and factory local access, and requires setup and device reconnection. Keep power connected and do not interrupt the restart. The exact manual gives conflicting Reset-button hold times in its rear-panel, reset-procedure, and factory-settings sections, so this guide deliberately gives no timing; check current exact-model NETGEAR support before using the button.

The NETGEAR account used by the Nighthawk app is separate from the RAXE300 local administrator login. The label serial number and security questions in the browser flow recover only the previously configured local admin access.

Choose the next diagnostic

If the local page works but the internet does not, open Advanced and inspect the Internet-port address. A value of 0.0.0.0 means the RAXE300 did not obtain a WAN address. Check the modem-to-router cable, then follow the manual's restart sequence before changing configuration. If the address remains absent, confirm provider login, host-name, or MAC requirements. With a WAN address present, continue to DNS and default-gateway checks.
