Open NETGEAR Nighthawk RS600 settings

Connect by RS600 Wi-Fi or a LAN Ethernet port, then enter routerlogin.net in the browser address bar. The exact manual also lists routerlogin.com and 192.168.1.1. These are local destinations and require a connection to this RS600. If the page does not open, check the Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection and router power, reopen or clear the browser, and make sure the client obtains an address automatically before considering a reset. The Nighthawk app supports setup and some management through a NETGEAR account; the browser route is the manual's exact path for the tasks below.

This local hostname works only while connected to your own router network.

Which password does the page need?

Local browser administration uses username admin and the case-sensitive router password chosen during setup. The Wi-Fi network key joins the wireless network, the NETGEAR account supports registration, remote management, and subscriptions, and any ISP login serves the internet connection. Do not substitute one for another. The documented factory password is relevant only after a confirmed reset.

Change the Wi-Fi password

After local browser sign-in, select Wireless. Review Smart Connect, then edit the Name (SSID) or Password (Network Key) for the intended 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, or 6 GHz network, keep security enabled, and select Apply. Save the replacement details first and use Ethernet when practical because applying a wireless change can disconnect the editing device. Rejoin affected devices with the saved name and key. Use the browser route when matching these manual fields because app screens can vary.

A local login failure and a WAN failure need different checks

If routerlogin.net does not open, verify the device-to-RS600 connection and current local credential. If the page opens but websites do not, avoid repeated password changes and inspect the Internet-port address and provider connection instead.

Recover local administrator access

Try non-destructive administrator recovery before erasing the router. It requires Enable Password Reset to have been selected earlier and the two saved security answers. From a browser connected to this RS600, open routerlogin.net, cancel the login window, enter the serial number from this router's label, answer the saved questions, and set the replacement administrator password and security answers. If that route is unavailable, preserve ISP, Wi-Fi, addressing, and other custom details and consult the exact manual or NETGEAR Support before a factory reset. Resetting erases personalized settings, restores factory local access and addressing, and requires setup and device reconnection. Keep power connected and do not interrupt restart. The exact manual gives conflicting Reset-button hold times, so this guide deliberately gives no timing.

A NETGEAR account is separate from the RS600 local administrator login. The browser's label-serial-number and security-question flow recovers only previously configured local administrator access, not the NETGEAR account or Wi-Fi password.

Choose the next diagnostic

If the local page works but the internet does not, select Advanced and inspect the Internet-port address. A value of 0.0.0.0 means the RS600 did not obtain a WAN address. Open Connection Status and renew the connection, then check for a provider outage and confirm any ISP login, host-name, or MAC-address requirement. With a WAN address present, continue to DNS and default-gateway checks rather than changing local or Wi-Fi credentials.
