Recognize the right fields

Default Wi-Fi name
The product label identifies the setup network. After setup, use your chosen network.
Owner TP-Link ID
The owner account password signs in to supported web management; it is not a label password.
Illustrated field reference. Read the values on your own equipment; label and screen layouts can vary. Changed passwords replace their original values.

Check the hardware version on the label. The X55, X55 Pro, and other Deco products have separate documentation. Browser features depend on the installed firmware.

Start with the Deco app

Use the official Deco app for initial setup and everyday network management. Sign in to the TP-Link account that owns the network. Selecting a different account may leave you looking at an empty network list even when the Wi-Fi is working.

Open the web interface

  1. Join the Deco network from your computer or phone.
  2. Open tplinkdeco.net. A default Deco LAN address is 192.168.68.1; use the current address if it changed.
  3. For supported firmware, sign in with the owner TP-Link ID password. A manager account is not equivalent to the owner account for web access.

The browser and app show different options

Use the app for a setting missing from the browser interface. Check More → Wi-Fi Settings for your network settings. In access-point mode, an upstream router handles routing, so that router may be the gateway shown by a connected device.

Before attempting recovery

A missing browser feature does not mean the hardware needs resetting. Confirm the model, network owner, operating mode, and firmware first. If you cannot access the account, start with the official account-recovery flow. See which password to recover before removing any configuration.

Check access for this model

Join the Deco network. Supported X55 firmware offers tplinkdeco.net and a default address of 192.168.68.1; the address can change. Use the Deco app for settings unavailable in the browser.

When a password is rejected

Use Forgot Password for the owner TP-Link ID in the official Deco sign-in flow. Resetting the Deco does not recover that online account.

When several devices lose internet

Check whether Deco is in router or access-point mode. In access-point mode, the upstream router provides routing; include that device and your provider connection in the checks.
