Router, AiMesh node, or access point?

Identify the operating mode first. Manage the main router for network-wide settings; a secondary device may have another local address. Check the full model and the official ASUSWRT guide below.

Find the correct login address

ASUS documents www.asusrouter.com for opening supported routers’ Web GUI. You can use the router’s LAN IP address as well. Check your gateway rather than assuming every ASUS model uses 192.168.1.1.

An unconfigured router may open Quick Internet Setup. Follow that setup flow and keep the admin password you create. Once configured, use the credentials set for the router’s local interface.

If you see a certificate warning

Check the local address, your network connection, and the official instructions for the model. A browser warning on a local management interface requires a different check from an unfamiliar public website. Verify the destination before entering credentials.

Before changing settings

Confirm the model and hardware revision on the equipment label. Write down the current network name and save a configuration backup if your model offers one. Make one change at a time so you can identify which setting affected the connection.

Still unable to sign in?

First check your actual gateway. Then work through our connection and password checks. Keep factory reset as a last resort, especially for ISP-managed equipment.
